Twenty years of building effective addiction recovery programmes
Madissar began his career as a prison officer in 2000, working directly within substance misuse services inside the prison system and connecting inmates to community-based treatment. That early experience gave him a ground-level understanding of what effective support looks like.
In 2006, he established the Drug Intervention Programme in Bedfordshire, later securing a service manager role and leading the development of the Drug Rehabilitation Requirement Order. From there, he built a career across some of the most respected organisations in the sector, including the NHS, RAPT, and Addaction, working in partnership with Integrated Offender Management and police to reduce drug-related offending.
In recent years, he has moved further into mental health, taking on senior managerial responsibility for residential rehab and supported living for adults with complex needs.
Through all of it, his own recovery has informed how he thinks about the environments he builds and the standards he holds them to.
Charterhouse Clinic's standards start with Madissar
Madissar runs Charterhouse Clinic with the kind of precision that only comes from two decades of building services from the ground up. His approach to operational management puts the client experience at the centre of every decision. CQC standards are the floor here, not the ceiling.
He believes that a treatment environment only works when every detail of it is handled with care. The clinical programme can be world-class, but if the environment around it is poorly run, the work suffers. At Charterhouse Clinic, the operational side is held to the same standard as the clinical side because Madissar believes that is what clients deserve.
Every detail of your stay is handled by someone who has been in your same position. Nothing about how Charterhouse Clinic operates is left to chance.
